Hey Xavs, I think you're giving the religious hissy-fitters too much credit there. I'm betting they never read any of it in any format.

That very situation has actually been going on for a few weeks now over on the Feministing site. Jessica Valenti has a new book coming out about how all the stuff about abstinence eduction and purity balls (*snicker8) are actually making girls lives worse. Oooooodles of fundies have blogged they've read the book and that she's totally wrong, blah, blah blah.

Only one problem with that.

Her book hasn't actually been printed yet!

There's not even so much as a few reviewer copies out yet. And yet, there's a bunch of pro-purity blogger claiming that they've read it. Not just sayin' mis-leading things to make you think they've read it, but out-right claiming they have. Yeah, sure.

So I don't put a whole lot of trust in those types.

I've noticed most of the hissy fit types don't tend to have much time for facts.

Apparently, there is a huge tourist industry built on the da vinci code now. There are millions of people making this pilgrimage to see the places in the book. And they have to have staff there to explain that no, this church wasn't built by a secret society, no there is no hidden chamber in the basement, etc.
