[Jilly stopped by the bakery to grab a box of pastries and a coffee before making her way to Archie's apartment. It was a familiar offering, an echo of the mornings she'd come over to work on the mural in his entryway, but it's not truly a social call this morning. Or for a project.

[Archie is not ready to receive visitors. It will take a second of flailing and a called-out "Just a minute!" before he can scramble to put on a shirt. Finally, he opens the door and is very, very glad he took the time to put on the shirt.]

[when she'd let Amelia talk her into taking a nap, she had only intended to sleep for an hour or two, getting enough energy to go back to her vigil. But, betrayed by her own lack of sleep, nearly the full day had slipped away before she'd managed to wake back up with a panicked start.
It had taken a few quick strides to abandon the extra clinic room and return to where Archie was sleeping, reaching the door just it opened and revealed Horatio...and the best news she'd heard all week.
Archie had woken up.
The fact that he was sleeping again when she slipped inside, trading places with Horatio so he could finally get some real rest didn't dampen the relief. Sleeping was good. And, if he'd been awake and talking before he would be again.
It would be alright.
She takes a quiet seat in her previously abandoned chair and, for the first time in days, she lets herself pull out her sketchbook and draw while she waits.]
[He jumps a little at the touch, then relaxes back into his pillow with a grin. He was asleep for the last week, yes, but it still feels like he hasn't seen her in ages.]
Jilly.
[Blinking away sleep as he starts to wake up for real now.] Are you all right?

[After a bath, a quick bite of lunch and changing into her favourite Luceti appropriated sundress, Selphie's been discharged from the clinic. She's still pale but if she's well enough to leave then the perky brunette has no intentions of staying any longer than she has to.
At the moment, she's completely unaware of the carnage outside as she knocks on the door to Archie's room.]

[Selphie might hear a crash as some tray or another falls to the floor. There's a few well-chosen words before the actual reply comes.]
Yes-yes, of course! Come in!
[When she does, he's looking a little flustered and trying to reach the plastic tray and dishes that he knocked onto the floor, along with half a ham sandwich and a mug of lukewarm tea.]
[The hand that's reaching for the mess is the one stuck with an IV, so...he probably does, but since he's feeling a little insecure, he'll shake his head and give a pseudo-smile.]
No. I think I have it in hand.
[Except the tubing on the IV is not long enough for him to reach the mug, and his left arm is in a sling. At least he's off the oxygen, so it's a slightly less creepy sight than it was yesterday.]

[There's a long, long pause.]
Mister Bush was a very dear friend to him. He-- [Archie's voice gives out briefly, and he begins again.] He is his first lieutenant, back home. No, he is not all right.

[It's not a great night, but he has to be sure something's not wrong. Horatio's a mess, even though he doesn't look like a mess to everyone.]

[It's more a statement of fact that a question, but Selphie has to be sure.]
