The tooth? You can't handle the tooth!

I have a numb nostril - and a temporary cap where my horrible manky tooth was, back next week to get it finished.

No pain today, except from the dried gunk from the casts he took which I had to peel and comb out of my beard, managed to get most of it out without looking like I'd had my face waxed.

Sorry to hi-jack your journal!

Not at all. Sounds deeply unpleasant, especially when it's already been quite an ordeal. Once I've finished next week I've still got an extraction to look forward too. It may involve them having to cut into my gum...aieee!

If you were drooling post-dentist that might have helped loosen the dried gunk.

Glad you're getting the repair done.

Nothing would've loosened this stuff, getting it off was a bit like when you pull a big dry hairy bogey out of your nose. I'll have to ask for some kind of beard napkin if they ever do that again.

Feels odd too...or rather it doesn't feel, which feels odd...or something.

I remember the feeling of a dental anaesthetic myself which made one side of my face numb for most of the night and me feel pretty grumpy, particularly when people expected me to speak.

Yesterday's XKCD covered some of the effects of such:

Seems like the modern stuff wears off fairly quickly now, a couple of hours at most. Still makes you sound like John Merrick until it does actually wear off though.
