The show last night was grrreat!
We got there a lil late and missed some dj's and some other act, but caught this one cat um.. Iomos Marad he's from the south side. Not only was he lyrically sound but his beats were good too.
Immortal Technique was hilarious he was doin some stand up when he first hit the stage cuz they were having techinical difficulties. He was talkin 'bout how Hip Hop shows are always sausage fest and sword fights. Agag, so true. He asked all the single ladies to put their hands up and of course you know I was raising my hand *and now that I have your attention... sup on some ass? ;D* Anyway Immortal was tight. Of the songs he performed that I recognized were Harlem Streets and Dance with the Devil. Dude really gets into the words he spits. I'm talkin like he 'looks' like he's about to beat the fuck outta somebody. After he got off the stage Mike and I made our way to his booth he got his CD signed and and I got a pic with him. He all kissed me on the cheek :D
Immediatley after Immortal Ali took to the stage. Mike and I were closer to the front for his set. Ali was off the hook, since he was headlining he had an hour set double the time he normally gets at an RSE event. He ripped through almost all of Shadows of the Sun, did one song with this female MC from the Chi (it was good too), and performed 3 new tracks off his upcoming EP Champion. And trust me it's gonna be tight cuz the three songs he did I was totally feeling. I can't wait. Anywho, after he got off stage I got a pic with him too :D!
P.S. I got pics of both Ali and Immortal while on stage =) yay!
I've been up since 7 am. I'm practicing gettin up for work the rest of this week :o/ I had some broken up sleep, I just couldn't get comfortable. My body ached. I think all that marking out I was doin last night didn't help. Bottomline: I think I need to get laid. Work the kinks out cuz it's been a long while since Oct 28th. Volunters? ;D
