Can you apologize to K for being insensitive about his stupid family and explain the cultural differences between Americans and Egyptians? Perhaps write him a letter, if he doesn't want to talk to you? Say you've been trying to integrate into Egyptian culture better, but it's hard when you've grown up in a society where people generally tell their parents/ family to fuck off and die if they give s.o.'s a hard time for no good reason.
