HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

So the first part of the USA's independence day was spent in class with another lecture from Tor. We were supposed to cover what we didn't get to yesterday then move on to today's topic. well, we never got there. So, today was supposed to be the day we take a walk along the Aker river after our lecture, but because of the continuing rain we've been having, it was pretty much canceled.

Today I managemed to get on the computers at BI just long enough to email my parents and to check my email ad messages. Tomorrow I will be able to (hopefully) type this all up on LJ (YAY) and to email it to people, but obviously not to the ease I did when I had had my computer ( Read more... )

So yesterday (June 30th) was a sad, sad day. My computer of a year and a half crashed (again) and says that Windows is either missing or corrupted. So on my "day off", I spent most of it trying to do what I could to repair it, but to no avail.

Because of the depressing nature of yesterday, I didn't even bother to write a journal entry about it.

Today we didn't have class, but a day trip to Hadeland, the place where they make/blow glass. It was fascinating, but we will get to that in a minute. We took another tour bus up to this place, and it took a good hour, I would say. But that hour was filled with just gorgeous scenery, and that was just the way up! Today, overall was a short day. We had class as usual at 9:00 am. I won't go into detail, but today's lecture was (for me at least) fascinating! The lady that presented today worked at McCann, a global ad and image organization. She went through the steps and suggestions of managing a global empire. The main example she used was Microsoft. So, class today was quite more hands on then yesterday. We had a different teacher and talked all about culture and differences within cultures etc. A lot of it I had heard before, from different communication classes, but this time I was able to put examples to real life right away, sitting right next to me. Today we had our first class. The material we are studying are similar to basic management and intercultural communication, but it seems to have a larger impact because we, as a class, are such a diverse group.
