He was sure he looked like he had snapped. Uruha had been pacing back and forth waiting for his turn to record for the past 15 minutes or so. Little did anyone know that it wasn’t his impatience to get into the studio that had the other’s staring at him and shaking their heads. No his problem was far worse than that and it came in the shape of a 5 foot 9 lead guitarist who also happened to be in the same company as him.

Uruha looked up at the clock then down at his own watch and then up at the clock again almost as if he wanted to make sure that his watch hadn’t malfunctioned sometime between this morning and his drive to the studio.

If someone had told him a year ago that he would end up in the situation he was currently in, he would have probably laughed in their faces and went on about his business. Uruha was never much of a relationship person, he didn’t like the idea of answering to someone else’s needs besides his own and yet here he was burning a trail into the studio carpet while cursing himself under his breath for having been so blind to what had been going on.

When Aoi had come to him some weeks ago and told him about his new hang out buddy Uruha hadn’t thought anything of it. He was also never one for Jealousy. Uruha prided himself on his independence a trait that came across to other people as hard headed and sometimes stuck up but he didn’t care. Aoi never saw him the way others some times did.

When they had first met Uruha was neither impressed enough of the dark haired guitarist to make friends nor was he stuck up enough to just ignore him. When they had to work together their conversations were all business. It was rare that they shared a laugh or even went out for a drink unless Ruki had opened his mouth and invited everyone out. It wasn’t until the bands fifth year together that they became a little more than acquaintances. It was almost as if someone were playing a trick on them as it seemed that every stop they had made on their 5 month tour Uruha and Aoi would end up sharing a room together. For the first week they didn’t really talk much unless it was to see who wanted to use the bath first before they both went to sleep or even to just relay a message from Kai or one of the other’s.  What had finally did it was the week they had two shows in Fukuoka with a free day in between. Aoi had opted to stay in ordering room service while Uruha chose to follow Reita, Ruki and Kai to a local family restaurant on their off day. They didn’t usually do things together outside of work but while they were on tour it was a whole different story. He had ended up going back to the room earlier than everyone else using the excuse that he was worn out and just wanted to relax.

Thinking back on it now, it seemed as though fate had brought him back to that room. That night him and Aoi had ended up chatting on about their fellow band mates, sharing a laugh here and than about how hilarious Ruki was when he was drunk - often times making Kai the victim of his drunken rampages. Reita on the other hand was a whole other story. Reita’s personality did a whole 360 whenever he was intoxicated, so much so that you would never guess that the man standing at the bar hitting on anything with legs was their dorky shy bass player. Before he knew it 4 hours had flew by with Aoi and him just sharing stories about their friends and then eventually family.

“Oi Uru, your making me dizzy. What’s up with you?” Ruki had successfully managed to break his pacing long enough for him to huff and rub the bridge of his nose. He definitely felt a headache coming on.

“It’s only because lover boy hasn’t shown up yet.”  Uruha slowly lifted his head and stared in the direction of his long time best friend who was about to be his past long time best friend once he finished choking the life out of him.

“Shut the fuck up Rei I’m not in the mood.”

“What, you pmsing or something?” Again he huffed silently calming himself in an attempt to not kill his best friend. Uruha rolled his eyes and took a seat in front of the sound board only to start spinning aimlessly in the wheeled office chair. Again he checked his watch trying to look as discreet about it as possible in the hopes that Reita wouldn’t rag’ on him again for being so paranoid. Since they’ve started dating Aoi would never fail to send Uruha a good morning message and Uruha would send one if they knew they wouldn’t be spending the night together. Today was the first time that he hadn’t been woken up to the sound of his phone receiving a message from his boy friend.

Uruha was about to check his watch yet again when the door to the studio opened up revealing the man in question who was wearing a big smile on his face.

“So what did I miss, anything good?”

“Just Uruha driving himself nuts wondering where you were. If you look down at the carpet you could even see the road he paved for himself.” Uruha felt at this point a new best friend wasn’t such a bad idea. Reita was just digging his own grave he told himself.

“What, why? Uru everything ok?” He didn’t even bother to look up or answer Aoi as he quickly stood and then walked passed him in the doorway. Uruha had no idea where he was going but he knew he needed to go somewhere to collect himself. He was pretty sure eventually Aoi would catch on that he was in fact the reason for Uruha’s odd behavior and would come to find him but for now he needed some air and he knew just where to go to get it.

Everyone used the roof from time to time especially to take smoke breaks but Uruha mostly used it when he had too much going on in his head for him to handle. His current problem being the newest thing he was fighting to find an answer for. Uruha leaned his body against the railing - stretching both arms out so that they hung over the bars and slowly breathed out willing his mind to rest for at least a few minutes.

He was becoming the person he had always promised himself he would never be - Jealous, overprotective and paranoid. Things were so much less complicated before Aoi forced his way into Uruha’s heart. He hadn’t been a slut per say, mostly flirting with guys and girls alike just because it was fun, but then all that came to an end the day that Aoi had kissed him and confessed that he had been wanting to do that since him and Aoi had first spoke.

“Fuck….” Uruha cursed to himself, leaning his head against the cool rail trying to figure out the exact moment when it all starting going wrong, and how he could have possibly missed the signs.

He jumped at the feeling of hands encircling his waist and then tensed at the realization that Aoi had indeed come to find him probably to figure out the reason behind his sudden exit.

“Uru what’s the matter?” Uruha shook his head. Refusing to look at the raven haired man for fear that he would break down and accuse Aoi of all the things he knew were happening behind his back.

“Nothing Aoi I just needed some air.” Uruha had hoped that Aoi would have gotten the hint and let him be, but the older man was always a glutton for punishment - usually opting to ignore the warning signs and to stay by Uruha no matter how pissed off he was.

“If I believed you I would leave but since I know you better then I know my own brother I think I’d rather hear why your obviously pissed right now, and I have a pretty good feeling I know why.” Aoi had a tendency to assume when it came to Uruha and his actions no matter how outlandish they were, a trait which could have him wanting to strangle the older man sometimes. He hated when people thought they knew him or when the presumed something about him before he had a chance to say anything different. One of their biggest fights to date was because Aoi had planned a full days worth of activities without consulting Uruha before hand on anyone of them. They hadn’t spoken for a week, and it took for Aoi to sleep outside of his apartment door for Uruha to finally give him the time of day again. Thinking about it now he could almost laugh at how stupid that fight had been, but in the shadow of what Uruha felt might be the end of their relationship that was the farthest thing from his mind. To say that he cared for Aoi was an understatement, but it wasn’t enough for him to stay and be stepped on like some useless person or at least that’s what he wanted to believe.

“Uruha talk to me.”

“Why should I Aoi you obviously know what’s wrong right because you’re a mind reader.” He could hear Aoi sigh behind him, releasing his frustration and then his waist before leaning his back against the railing next to Uruha.

“If you don’t want me to hang around him then I won’t Uru I already told you one less person in my life won’t kill me not if it makes you uncomfortable.”

“That’s not what I want.” The lie tasted bitter as it left his lips but it was all he could do to keep his jealousy in check. At first it had been so tiny that he barely even noticed when his looks lingered a little longer than necessary when the younger guitarist would come by the studio to ask Aoi out to eat or just to talk. But then the visits began to get more frequent, and his bitchiness grew to the point where none of the other’s were safe from his wrath. It wasn’t until Reita had pointed out that every time Aoi would talk to the other man much less hang out with him, Uruha would go on a rampage. He didn’t want to be that person. It wasn’t any one else’s fault but his own for having been so blind.

“Baby listen to me, I don’t know what’s going on inside of that head of yours which is scary enough, but please don’t tune me out. If there’s something wrong say it.” Uruha turned to face Aoi who had been looking at him for the whole time it seemed. He sighed to himself and looked down at his feet, at the same time lightly squeezing the hand that had snuck into his before looking back up into Aoi’s eyes.

“The selfish kid in me wants to scream and tell you to never see him again, but I know that’s not fair to you. You are your own person Aoi, sociable and kind and sometimes the complete opposite of me. And I knew before we started dating that I was just going to have to deal if I wanted to be with you. It’s just that I have this feeling that I can’t for the life of me ignore, and it’s telling me that I’m going to lose you if I don’t be careful. And I don’t want that to happen Aoi.” At this point Uruha found himself struggling to hold his tears back as he felt them begin to pool threatening to fall at any moment. Uruha sniffled when Aoi  wrapped his arms around him, placing a kiss just below his ear, his chin, and then finally a light kiss on his lips. It was as if there was power in Aoi’s kisses. Most times when Uruha was upset and stressed it only took one of Aoi’s kisses for Uruha to stop and calm down.

“I can swear to you right now, nothing would ever take me away from you. When I said I wanted to be with you I meant for as long as you would have me. And even if you were the one to break it off with me I wouldn’t be able to just walk away that easily. Besides I’m the one that stalked you till you agreed to date me if you recall.” Uruha couldn’t help but smile at Aoi’s attempt to make him feel better. “It can hardly be called stalking if we work together baka.” He smiled into the kiss that was placed on his lips for the second time before reaching out his arms and wrapping them around Aoi.

As they pulled apart Uruha could almost see the relief on Aoi’s face at seeing that he had managed to get Uruha to talk to him. “Does this mean you’re done hating me now?” Again Uruha smiled, shaking his head as he took Aoi’s hand into his own leading them back to the staircase that would take them to the practice room.

“For right now yes, until you do something else to umph….”  Aoi had manage to steal the air from him as he was quickly spun around and then pushed against the door , his lips being captured before he could protest or question whatever it was that Aoi had in mind. A low moan escaped his lips as he took a second to come up for air before hands were in his hair and Aoi had pulled him back into another kiss. God the things that Aoi could do to him with just his tongue were amazing. He could feel the first signs of desire gather in his stomach, Aoi’s tongue now working its way down Uruha’s now and then suckling the juncture between his collar bone and the soft line of his neck.

“ Aoi wait, they’ll see.” Uruha knew from experience that his protests would fall on deaf ears but he tried non-the less. There had been quite a few occasions where they had almost gotten  caught due to Aoi’s mischievousness’  despite knowing that at any moment someone might come looking for them.  “I think you’re the only one that’s concerned with that Uru. Besides they know I came looking for you. We’re talking remember.”  He shook his head, amused by the things Aoi tried to make more logical then they were. “What am I going to do with you?” He moaned again this time out loud at the feeling of Aoi’s hands gripping his ass as he continued to attack his neck. “You can do whatever you want baby.” He placed both hands on either side of Aoi’s face, successfully gaining his attention so that he could attack the purple haired guitarist lips - their kiss being much more heated and needy this time.

They were so wrapped up in what they were doing that either Aoi or Uruha had heard the echo of the footsteps coming from the other side of the door.

“What the hell is taking you guys so long is Uruha threatening to jump or something?” Uruha nearly threw Aoi backwards as the door opened revealing their not to happy vocalist who stood holding the door to the staircase open while eyeing Aoi suspiciously, and then turning his gaze on Uruha who now stood with his head down and his hand covering the spot on his neck that Aoi had been molesting not even a minute ago. “Hmph, You could have at least went into a closet or something. It was meant for me to catch you guys in the act. Ruki dug into his pocket pulling out a cigarette and then walked towards the railing probably taking his last smoke break before he got stuck on work for the next 4 or so hours.

“By the way, Kai say’s get your asses downstairs. Uruha it’s your turn to record.” Uruha all too happily turned and opened the door, holding it for the guitarist to follow. “Fuck! I swear Ruki has a fucking tracker on us or something. How does he always manage to find us?”  Uruha glared at Aoi who stood cursing under his breath at their bad luck when it came to Ruki. He really did have some amazing intuition when it came to certain things, knowing when and where to catch them being one of them much to Aoi’s dismay.

“Let’s just go back to the others. I’m sure Kai is wanting to strangle us right now for messing with his thoroughly timed schedule.”

“Fine, but I’m taking a raincheck .” Uruha smiled and then placed a kiss on Aoi’s pouty lips. “Sure.”

Despite how angry Aoi could make him, he would always manage to tear down the walls around Uruha’s heart.

aoi, uruha
