I had nothing to do with the MIT Mystery Hunt this weekend; I had bigger things going on, and the last time I sacrificed a puzzle event (Which would've been my first live one, actually) to a Bigger Thing, I came out the better for it

There was supposed to be something sort of Phoenix Wright-like in the endgame, though that got cut when we realized the hunt was running long. As for online puzzle hunt-type stuff, I think there is somewhat of a demand but not as much of one. I know that I had a lot of fun with Sekkrets back in 2006 and am having fun in the development of its sequel, though I think both of these events are longer than what you are thinking of.
