Application: Heroes Vs Zombies
The basics
1. Name please! Lyle Bennet
2. Age 18

3b. How does your character use his/her power? (i.e. to do good deeds, for selfish reasons, barely at at all, etc.)
The past
4. What's your understanding of the character's canon past? If your character is too minor to have one, write N/A and proceed to question #4 According to a deleted scene, Lyle was adopted, too, and I tend to play by that canon. There isn't much said, but he's the son of Sandra and Noah Bennet, Claire's brother. He likes sports and things to be normal.
5. No character's background is fully explored. Building on the canon base (if applicable) give us some additional insight into how your see your character Lyle is obsessed with soccer, attending school on an athletic scholarship. He prefers things to be normal, to the point of hating himself for his sexuality. He keeps himself deep in the closet. He has a lot of friends that he keeps at a distance, hiding most of his true feelings. He tends to think badly of himself, and thinks his parents love Claire more than him.
The present
6. What was your character doing/what did they do when the apocalypse began? Lyle was away from school for a game when disaster struck. Since then, the last remnants of his team has been whittled away, leaving him alone on his travels, trying to get to familiar ground.
7. How did your character get to the house?
He's actually attempting to find his way back to Texas at this point, being the closest to where he was abandoned.
The future
8. Beyond the obvious short term goal of 'survive' what are your character's plans for when things come to an end. If you play a zombie, will he/she look forward to death once more or will they have hoped to have found some kind of curse?
Lyle's never been one for complicated plans. It'll probably take him another six months to get past the freakout phase. His main hope is to find a bunch of people and a semblance of normality.
The write stuff
9. In character, give us 2-3 paragraphs on any topic that tickles your fancy. Again, the sample should be written in third-person past tense.
Lyle grinned in joy, feeling the wind rushing around him as he pounded down the field. No one could catch him. He was unstoppable. The ball moved elegantly from one foot to the other, barely seeming to touch as he nudged it on. He never felt more alive than he did at these moments.
He kept his eyes on the goalie, trying to sense his weaknesses, see any holes in his guard. And there! He drew his foot back, sending the ball flying, right at the far corner. The goalie dived, fingers just brushing the ball as it flew into the net.
There was a reason Lyle was MVP this year.
