So given my discussion with America and my apparent need to be a swashbuckler, I found a sword hidden in my room. I'm not sure exactly how long it's been here or even why it's here in the first place, but I have it.

...I'd also like to make it known that I'm incredibly clumsy with this thing. I almost cut my hand off!

Give it to someone who's worthy of it, brat.

Technically, if I find the sword, doesn't that qualify as the sword choosing me? As much as I'd really hate to think that an inanimate object was capable of making up it's own mind.

Careful.

I'm trying to be. My slight curiosity is getting the better of me though.

I'm sure you will be fine, you're Japanese! It's in your blood!

Just being Japanese doesn't mean I'm immediately a descendant of Miyamoto Musashi.

At least, I don't believe I am.

...thanks? I'm not feeling encouraged to actually keep trying to do this.

I was practicing my Japanese. Would you prefer words of encouragement in other languages? You have three hundred to choose from.

I believe the more you say it the more hollow the encouragement would get.

You just got interesting again.

Why do you want to be a swashbuckler?

It's either this or drinking rum. Plus, I have this feeling of impending terror that tells me that I'll actually need to use this eventually.

Drinking rum sounds safer.

Then again, impending feelings of terror should NEVER be ignored. It'll save your life every time.

Do you even know anything about swords?

They're sharp, it takes a lot of experience to learn to use them, and kendo is safer than learning it directly.
