Either someone on this ship has amazing penmanship and is playing an elaborate prank on us, or I've actually found an actual map. I really hate saying this, but if we're actually going to play pirate now that you're here, then we can at least make an attempt at finding treasure. At least it'll calm you down a bit....on that note, does anyone know ( Read more... )

Your best alternative is to attempt to find an Eternal Pose to Arabasta, if you truly intend to go there.

And where would I find one of those?

Who knows? They show up in different places. Ask around, you're sure to find someone with ties to a wholesaler. Or the black market. They don't come cheap, so you may have to do a few raids in order to obtain the necessary funds.

At any rate, maps of the Grand Line are iffy at best, since you can't trust normal navigation methods. Tell Haruhi-chan that finding the Eternal Pose is part of the adventure, a pre-treasure-hunt treasure hunt.

...I can't help but think suddenly that this is the equivalent of buying a bomb from someone.

Regardless, I'll let Haruhi know that. It'll give her something to look forward to before then.

Great. Given that you have a tendency to pick up information on these islands quite well, what can you tell me?

It's kind of like Egypt. Desert, sort of Arabic, oasis, ruins, whatever. I'm assuming the map is to a ruin of some kind~?

The capital is Alubarna and run by King Nefetiri and Princes Vivi. The latter was around here for a while. They're really into bath-houses lately she says. I guess tourism money? There was some sort of rebellion (bad for business that) so they're still rebuilding and definitely not going to look kindly on national treasures being stolen out from under their noses I think. I think the ancestors of the place were probably a fuckton richer than the current residents but I'm sure some superstitions about curses or whatever keep them from digging up the gold to use it. The vendors aren't too bad, pretty damn friendly about switching gems into berri and that is where I got Pink Snail Phone the 2nd.

Anything else in particular?

Actually, it's more of just a regular map right now.

Well if it's just a regular map, how can you tell if there's treasure?

...half of the fun is in finding out?
