My staycation adventure

Well, nothing exciting at all, however, I did finish, in the span of 8 days, Mira Grant's Newflesh trilogy.

I give this whole series such a big 5 cuppa rating, it "stands" (heh) with two of my top favorite books forever: Stephen King's The Stand and Octavia E. Butler's The Parable of the Sower ...I've read King's book about 10 times....and Butler's around 6-7 ... and if you like those books, I'd say give Grant's a try!

These books are amazing, quick reading, and I honestly haven't gone through 3 books that quickly since forever!! Watch me gush below:

So, I'll advise you, if you like medical thrillers, political conspiracies, smart banter, excellently written action, on the road type dystopia/apocalyptic books with characters that are well drawn, three dimensional folks you might just need hankie or three for-- please settle down on a couch with your favorite coffee or a nice iced coke or even some sort of tea and read these books! If you are interested in exploring where the 'net might go within 20 years, I'd advise you to read this. If you know your Whedon, I'd also recommend this series to you. I am sure I fall behind on some of the horror movie references, because I am not a horror movie person- I am an apocalyptic and science fiction fan, and I also often advise people if I was a doctor, I'd be an epidemiologist...so her exploration of the medical profession is fascinating and in depth, adding to the science fiction part of the genre mix. I like horror with a healthy dash of science fiction mixed in there, and this is an excellent example of a series that fulfills the billing perfectly.
(Oh and i almost forgot -- it's about zombies...and she explains them in detail, yay!)
