I know what you mean. Or they'll just pick up a gun and it'll make the noise, like it's some sort of children's toy that has buttons for sound effects all over the handle. Also, if I ever make an action-comedy, someone will keep pumping a shotgun for dramatic effect and it will then be out of ammo by the time they go to use it.
