I'm working on a post-human cyberpunk project thinger.

Can anyone provide me with links to a good introduction to "maker culture"? Thanks in advance.

I dunno, Cory Doctorow's books would be what I think of in that regard. They're available for free download on his blog.

Don't you just stick goggles and brass couplers on things?

Oh wait said cyberpunk.

Visit in person, ask them yourself: http://www.hive13.org

In addition to Cory Doctorow, maybe the first few chapters of Steven Levy's Hackers. Though it long predates when “making” was A Thing with a name and a glossy magazine, in terms of mindset and philosophy it might be an apt introduction. Or maybe I'm just nostalgic.

LJ is having an issue where I can't see the comments people post in default-style journals. But I'll suggest a look at Make: Magazine, and remind you that Popular Science was very popular back in the day.
