The one story of yours I've read from the beginning?

Ok. Um. First off, how did I help?

And secondly...can you um have Robin preferably, shoot Carly in the head...execution style?

The VENOM that woman speaks? Goodness. GAH.

Now, post on the SB, so I can rant some more there.

Hee! A few months ago I asked you if what Robert says to Carly -- about secreting her away to a hidden prison forever for messing with his little girl -- was in-character or too over the top. You went on a five-minute tirade about all the things Robert and Anna would do to Carly if they ever saw her attack Robin, lol! So, you helped me get over a huge hump in the middle of the chapter. Thank you!

No, Robin will not shoot Carly in the head. Why waste the bullet? Assuming I ever actually finish this, Carly will get hers at the Nurses Ball. Don't worry. I wouldn't let her get away with the things she said. Neither will Brenda. *cackles*

As soon as I reformat it for the SB, it will go up. I'm afraid to look at when I last updated this.

Never say I don't give you anything! I mean, what I give you might be angsty and borderline character abuse, but I give it to you!

You know what's funny? As much as I hate Carly, I kind of like writing her. I mean, she's awful and the show ruins any glimmer of potential she might have, but the idea of the character is interesting. And even with the way she is, it's fun to try and get inside her head and figure out what the hell makes her act the way she does, because we don't get any real character development on the show. Lots of screentime, yes, but no actual insights into her psyche. Same with Sonny. It's interesting to try and figure him out and make him, if not sympathetic, at least human. Hey, you saw what happened when I decided that the writers gave Sam a raw deal ( ... )

Wow. I'm just in awe of how much you get these characters - from the big stuff (Brenda's analysis of Sonny) to the little details (like Sonny pinching the bridge of his nose) and everything in between. I'm just hoping it will be possible to have Carly completely humiliated at the Nurses' Ball without it ruining the rest of the Ball for everyone else.

Aww, thank you so much! *blushes*

Making the characters sound true is always my biggest concern, so that means a lot to me. I mean, we're all here because we connected with these characters in some way, right? And yes, Carly gets what's coming to her at the Nurses Ball. Not without some bumps along the way (because it wouldn't be Port Charles if stuff didn't go really, really wrong), but in the end, Carly will wish she'd kept her big mouth shut, about a whole lot of things (vague enough for you?).

Well, this is sort of an odd way to phrase a compliment, but while reading this scene I wanted to reach through my laptop and ring Carly's neck, just like I used to want to reach through my tv when SB was playing Carly. So I'd say you've got it right.

Hee! That's really flattering, actually, because it means I'm capturing something of the character and making you react the way you do when you watch the show. Like I was telling sugarpromises, writing Carly is actually kind of fun because I hate her so much. Have you ever tried to think like her? It's scary, lol.

You already know I thought it was brilliant.

Carly is a hateful beast. But I totally get why she's kind of fun to write. It's like me with Liz. I hate her, think she sucks as a person, but finding a way to make her not be quite like that is an interesting challenge. You know?

Great chapter!

Yes! That's exactly it. You have to find a way to make her a real character, because otherwise why bother writing her at all. Carly's not supposed to be sympathetic here, but I was trying to at least have her psychology make sense a little bit.

Thank you again! You handle me blathering on about fic so well. *g*
