I'm trying to desperately to catch up, so I just now took a look at your new journal. I'm sure I'll have more insightful things to say besides "ooh, pretty!" in the future, but for now, that's what you get. :)
Nothing about GH surprises me. This was always the big fear we all had, and Guza did not disappoint. He always succeeds at failing, which I guess is something?
Yes! CM may be going to hell in a handbasket next season, but I will not let it ruin the first five seasons of joy I've just discovered. How could no one tell me about that show?! It has all my kinks -- cast chem, teamfic, awesome women, crime procedure -- and NO FORCED SHIPS. Morgan/Garcia BFFs forever, yo. Also JJ/Prentiss/Garcia BFFs. And Morgan/Reid BFFs. SO MUCH BFF-Y GOODNESS.
I now have a MS in urban policy analysis, with major coursework in gender policy. Yes, I enjoy being disappointed in real life as well as in fandom. Hee, we'll wander aimlessly together. Are you still down south? Or are you moving back up the east coast again?

CM I just discovered by accident due to it getting syndicated late last year and I started watching the A&E marathons during the Christmas holidays and I was hooked. Such a fab show. And yes, I love my bffs so much -- Morgann/Garcia and my Morgan/Reid being my favs, and all the ladies are AWESOME. Too bad TPTB doesn't think so. *eye roll*
Ah! MS in Urban Policy! You go girl! Get ready to party hard with the policy wonks :P I'm on my way back to either DC or NYC in the fall because that's where all the jobs are at apparently. Le Sigh! For now I'm hanging out with the family down South.

GH is...ugh. I can't believe I almost got sucked in again earlier this year. What a waste of a good soap.
Hee, yeah, CM was a total accidental discovery, but I am so glad to at least have five seasons worth of joy. As much as I can't deal with GBV-stuff in fiction -- too much sensationalism and GETTING IT FUCKING WRONG -- CM actually strikes me as not totally sucking in that department, which is just an added bonus on top of the awesome cast stuff. TPTB can shove it. At least it's pretty uniformly being panned, by fans and cast alike.
Hee! Now if only someone would hire me for my policy wonky services... Well, not that I'm partial or anything, but I'd say try NYC first. *hint hint*

As for procedurals being mostly a boys game, you know I agree, but may I kindly point you in the direction of The Good Wife, *cough, cough*. Maybe the key is to have the female character in the title. Bones is pretty good at the whole keeping female characters centric thing, too. I'm going to have to think about this more.

I left my personal canon theory in Resa's journal, which includes an elaborate plot by Helena and the REAL Robin and Patrick living happily ever after somewhere else. Yes, Guza has driven me to making up canon AGAIN.
Hee, I PROMISE I will check out the Good Wife this summer! It does sound awesome. And shows that respect and understand female characters would be SUCH a welcome change of pace.
(PS: indeed, Bones is pretty damn awesome about its female characters. We need to squee more about that show, too).
