And if it isn't abundantly clear, the City of Muncie is doing this because it was an opportunity for CBS and some C-list celebrities to come with their cameras and show off their town. When you remember the gusto with which the whole "Dave's Alley" was pitched to the press, it's easy to see how this public relations opportunity was the holy grail. Yeah, it's funny. Yeah, if it's lucky, it will make Muncie a national punchline. And that will be far more attention than that community has gotten in years.
