Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I do envision it as a series, yes - I got the idea for this one yesterday, thinking about their second "picnic date" and what might happen, and so I sat down at the computer and wrote it out. I then decided that it would be nice to explore their continuing relationship through the lens of the picnic motif, so each story will feature them at a picnic, but at a different stage of their lives. I'm writing a pretty heavy dramatic novel-length James fic right now, so sometimes I need to write some pure fluff to escape from the grittier universe I've written for James in my other story. I am, actually: it's called "A Vagrant Gypsy Life" and it's posted in its current state of completion on ff.net, here. I have hesitated to post it here because while there is definitely some J/E in there, and ultimately, I think that's where I'm headed (I just can't deny James his true love!), it's much more James-focused and he's not exactly pining for her for most of the fic ;) But I would really appreciate it if you wanted to check it out - it's definitely my baby, and sadly because ff.net doesn't like M rated fics, it doesn't have many readers. If you think folks here would enjoy it, though, I will be happy to post a link in a separate post as well! It IS J/E, it's just... going to take a while for them to get there ;) And since I am a newbie to the community I didn't immediately want to come in and linkwhore to my fics on another site.

I too am addicted to "A Vagrant Gypsy Life". You are a very talented writer and the emotional arc James embarks on is very believable. So, please update and update often! If you are counting votes for who he ends up with....I'm a James/Elizabeth shipper to the core. The "Proposal" is a spoonful of candy sprinkles on my ice cream. Love it!

Awww thanks so much :) I'm glad you are enjoying both the candy sprinkled fluff and the gritty Scruffington ;) I will definitely be working on chapter 10 so hopefully that will be up soon. As far as who he ends up with... well, he has a LOT of demons to work out, and she still has the whelp a fiance, so I can't promise anything will happen soon, but... good things come to those who wait ;) Though I should go ahead and say that I have envisioned Vagrant Gypsy Life being the first of, if not a trilogy, at least a pairing of stories, so... well, as I said, all things happen in time ;)

Lovely fluff! I enjoy your writing very much. I caught the first instalment of this too and I'm so pleased that you're making it into a series. PotC fic is getting harder to find these days and it's lovely to find someone still writing it.Thanks for the link to your other writing too - I'm looking forward to reading A Vagrant Gypsy Life. Gritty, scoundrelly Scruffington sounds wonderful!

It's unfortunate, I think, that the little fic there is gets spread around LJ, FF, DW and AO3. I have a lengthy AU in progress at the moment, a multi-fandom Age of Sail epic (which features a rather angsty, damaged Norrington), but heaven knows where I'll post it once it's finished. Or if it would ever find an audience.

Your fic sounds interesting - if Norrington is a character you should definitely at least post on it on the Norrington-centric LJ communities (I'm not sure about the protocol of posting here if there's no Norribeth at all - you didn't mention any so I'm not sure?), and also FF.net allows you to post crossover-labelled fic, so you could put it up there too. If nothing else I'd be interested in checking it out so let me know if you put it up somewhere!

Well, it's Norrington but it's not a PotC fic. in fact, it ties in characters from about 5 different.fandoms - hence the dilemma about where to post. And, no, there's no Norribeth, although there is an OFC love interest for our boy.
