Okay. I've done some work on a bodice fitter for a friend, now to do the same for yours truly.

Ready to start
All right. So. I have the Machine in place, I have some drawings in my trusty sketchbook, I have a concept of what I'd like to build. It's time to start. I'll be back in my own home as of tomorrow night, so I'll be able to do just that. I will be grading up a commercial corset pattern and starting to fit it in canvas drill. I had been at loose ends, mostly trying to get reestablished after returning to Seattle. That took some time, and once I was in a reasonable place to get set up to work on projects I then floundered a bit for want of inspiration ( Read more... ) -
Finally rolling again.
So.... I've relocated. And not just "oh, I think I'd like to live up on Capital Hill, that's a more fun neighborhood." I left school, picked up, and drug my sorry ass all the way from Seattle to Chicago. I'm re-enrolled at IADT there, and have finally started classes. We're in business
So, today I e-filed for a Washington state tax ID number. Sometimes I do a little sewing for people for cash, and now it doesn't have to be under the table. It would be nice to be able to teach lessons and get paid for it, and I also have intent to launch me a little Seattle-based sewing/crafts website. Downtime
I'm taking a week off from Mina's Dress. If I work on it too soon after the marathon sessions I put in to get the jacket and skirt done for the end of the quarter, I'll just get mad. So instead I've been picking away at getting my workspace cleaned up and organized, and decided to draft a self sloper ( Read more... )
