Who carries a tazer around when they're doing science in the desert, anyway? Darcy

Much has been written about Darcy and her tazer. I don't know if anyone else thought it was really strange that Darcy had a tazer with her when she met Thor, but I did. So anon, please give me something explaining why!
Maybe Darcy had a stalker for Thor to beat up she was getting some distance from by going out to New Mexico. Maybe she has some limited precognition or prophetic dreams, and knew something important was going on, and thought it would be good to be prepared. Maybe she's just easily frightened and way too fond of horror movies, and carries it around to reassure herself.
Can be as drama or crack as you like. Any pairings are fine. I'm not picky.
[GEN] Thor and/or Loki, Gylfaginning, kind of crackkhilariDecember 2 2012, 23:07:26 UTC
Gylfaginning is basically the framing device for a lot of the prose Edda. Gylfi is the king of Sweden and sets out to find Asgard and learn about the Aesir, but gets waylaid by them before he reaches Asgard, meets three beings who might all be Odin in disguise (their names are later given as his kennings), and is told the various stories of Norse mythology before everything vanishes and he goes home to tell the tales to others.
Thor and/or Loki reads the prose Edda and, while they don't recognise the stories about them, they do recognise the story about the curious mortal who turned up asking questions. Turns out Odin told Gylfi a lot of nonsense, with his (then infant) sons given major roles in the stories he made up.
There is much WTFing about what Odin was thinking. Especially about the horse.

Oh you know, talking myth, I've been thinking for a while Odin, Frigga and Loki may have had some interesting things going on (even discounting Frigga's affair with Odin's brothers Vili and Ve). There was this thing when Frigga tricked Odin into being tortured by a human king, and Loki of course gets tortured as well ... And Odin and Loki have this odd "blood brother" relationship which may as well be a euphemism for something two highborn men were not supposed to do with each other ...
Gen. Thor hits Loki. Odin finds out. physical/emotional abuse of a child, misunderstanding

Once Thor was really really bad, got himself into danger and one of his parents had a really panicked/instinctual reaction to it. They hit/slapped him pretty hard (just once), and it shocked Thor, who isn't really used to such discipline.
However, Thor didn't comprehend that this had actually been an overreaction by his parents, and he began to think it acceptable to thump Loki whenever he thought Loki was misbehaving, or was just irritating him. Loki was younger still, and began to suspect that (a) Thor had the right to hurt him and (b) if he complained, his parents would just punish him as well. Over the years, Thor becomes stronger and stronger and even more violent. He doesn't really want to hurt Loki, but does not face the fact that he uses his brother as an outlet for his aggression.
One day, Odin sees Thor hurting Loki particularly brutally, and puts a stop to it. When it comes out that Thor has been practically attacking Loki over the years, Odin is devastated

Great idea. There could be another cruel twist if Thor thought he was doing his brother some good, training and improving him, not understanding Loki was younger and not up to his standards in martial arts.
Lokitty has Kittens

So I've heard stories where Loki turns himself into a cat, and ones where he's pregnant and gives birth to strange looking creatures. How about one where Loki while as a cat gives birth to kittens. Would like the whole proud uncle Thor and confused avengers.
Bonus Points if Fenrir is incorporated into the story somehow. Wonder how the whole canine and feline as siblings thing will work out.

Author's note- Not my usual fandom, but wanted something fun to blow off steam, I hope you enjoy it. This looks like just the thing I have been looking for. I don't know how long it will be, but in general this is meant to be light and funny

Loki sat on the glass table surrounded by Avengers with his tail thrashing, feeling incredibly violated by all this nonsense, couldn't a God of Mischief have a litter of kittens in peace

Thor is a policeman. Together with his colleagues he does anything he can to find a serial killer who's been kidnapping, raping, torturing and slowly killing teenage boys around 16-18. There are a lot of victims already, but they still can't find the sadistic murderer

Ever since I read the prompt I've been wanting to fill this! I hope I won't disappoint. Just bear in mind that updates will probably come pretty slowly and this will end up being long.
