Dean of West Point objects to "24"

The Dean of West Point has publicly objected to the depiction of torture on the Fox program "24", indicating that students frequently refer to the program as "evidence" that torture is good.

"I'd like them to stop. They should do a show where torture backfires. The kids see it and say, 'If torture is wrong, what about 24?'"

Sounds like they need to have a class during Freshman year on the differences between fiction and reality :P

They don't need to bother with rationale, they just follow orders. I'm pretty sure questioning the validity of a lawful order applies more to things like torture/killing EPWs or making decisions about troop welfare rather than whether or not the whole conflict/war/police action is "legal".
