[She's sitting on a bench somewhere in a little park next to the waterfront, and is knitting. It's not really apparent what she is knitting so far, but it is clear that she's doing it with a lot of expertise and skill ( Read more... )

[ Deep in thought? America can fix that! ]

Hey, hey! Don't waste your time doing something stupid like knitting!

[She nearly jumps out of her skin at the sudden voice - but no, it's not Denmark, there is no relentless teasing in store, so she only lowers the needles and looks up at the other woman, trying to figure out why she is here before really saying anything. Has she come for trade talks, or for a casual chat, or... it should be approached different, if it is.

In the end, Sweden gives the younger female a short nod. That seems to be the safest way of greeting that won't be wrong in either case.]

Good aft'rnoon.

So what were you looking at? I wasn't over there, so it couldn't have been anything too interesting!

...

Nothing 'mportant now.

[She gestures towards the bench to distract the other woman, and also to be polite.] Sit, please.

[Comes up behind Sweden and covers her eyes with her hands.] Guess who!

[I totally forgot to add this, but if her characterization is a bit inconsistent, that is because I'm still experimenting ;;

Also there is a lengthy pause, and then:]

...

France.

[Because there aren't too many people she knows who would do this, and then she can try to figure out whom the voice belongs to.]

[Moves her hands to Sweden's shoulders.] Ah, you're too clever. Bonjour, ma chère.

[She tries to turn around and look at the other woman, which is a bit hard from her position, and certainly not very comfortable.]

Good aft'rnoon. [...] How are you?

[...she should have stayed inside. But. It was a really nice day, and the house tends to feel really lonely when Norway is gone to take care of things in her place.

And she is not sure if that is an insult, a compliment, or something else. How should she react like that and find the correct answer? ...thinking face, aka it might be a bit very scary.]

's that so?

[She drapes over the back of the bench, gesturing in the general direction of the knitting pack] It's too domestic. What do you leave for your smaller, frillier comrades? [Never mind that not all of the Nordic ladies could be considered "small" or "frilly"]

[Trying to imagine a Denmark that meets that description, or even a Norway, kind of makes brains break. Still. Her first thoughts go to Finland, still, despite everything, always, and while she is not so sure about the frilly Finland is smaller and would look great in everything, including frilly things. At least in Sweden's opinion.]

She was never 'nterested.

[Oh, hey, it's a Nation with a knitting project. She can totally support those. Sweden looks a bit thoughtful, though, so Canada doesn't intrude in her space immediately, rather pausing on the path a ways away and giving a wave as she calls out a cheery,] Hello!

[Okay so

let's just drop this and put it away where nobody can see it when ....this girl is looking the other way.

Nope, no matter how hard she tries to remember. She has no idea who it is.]

Good aft'rnoon. [Staring at very intently.]

What'cha knitting, Sweden? [Colloquial and interested Canada is a go! But still from a safe distance away. Because... Sweden.]

[ oh hai. japan here was just passing by when-- o-oh... sweden is knitting... c-cute *u* w-wait she shouldn't just stand there and stare isn't it rude... but what if it's even ruder to interrupt her.. b-but if she just does nothing and goes for the former option that will be even more rude! no wait or would that be less rude... after contemplating this for exactly three seconds japan decides to just bow politely in greeting. ]

Ah... Sweden-san. Greetings.

[They should have a championship in awkward.]

Jap'n. [She shuffles a bit, making imaginary space for the other woman (because technically, there is enough already).] Good aft'rnoon.

[ that would be a truly epic battle....! ]

I hope Sweden-san has been well. [ doesn't sit down just yet, out of politeness ] Ah, knitting, is it? Would it be alright of me to ask what is it that she is making? Please forgive my humble curiosity...
