So I finally managed to unlock all the packs with Fabled monsters, so I built both a standing deck and riding deck for Martyrverse!Kiryuu. It's done fairly well against the AIs, I've won about 95% of the duels with it. I just need a bit of help fine-tuning it and I'm open to suggestions for either the actual decks or a side deck of fifteen extra ( Read more... )

So is this...an actual deck that you're using, or a fictional deck? I'm a little confused ( ... )

It's a deck that I'm using inside the WC 2011 game, and it's going to be a fictional deck used by Kiryuu in the fic if I ever get around to it.

1. I'm not entirely what rules I'm playing by, since it's whatever WC 2011 allows, and that game's been out for about...a year-ish?
2. I couldn't really think of much else for Spell Cards, so I'm looking for opinions on those, and yeah, three does seem like a bit much ahahaha. I don't really get much use out of them anyways, derp.

Any kind of feedback is good, really, since I'm an amateur at best. Commentary on the deck itself sounds really great, actually. :D

Yaay! I hope you end up liking the series. :3

What's WC 2011? Is it a video game? (if so, I WANT IT)

It's short for World Championship 2011, and it's the last of the three World Championship DS games that is set in the 5D's timeline. I think up to 2006 or 7 it was set in DM and 2008 it was set in GX timeline. And the 5D's games are the first ones to include a semblance of storyline other than "beat the tournaments, be the best yay." WC 2009 follows season one, 2010 follows season two, and 2011 follows season three and an abridged version of season 4.

-excuse me while I pretty much just grin that you use WC2011 for your YGO character deck needs as well. >3<

But, seriously. I don't know Fable too well, but I'd just ask what you're looking for in side deck needs via story, given I generally don't deal with it in my own writing. (YGO!Canon being such a sudden death of a 1-duel-only thing.)

...actually, nvm. I will say while Raigeki Break might work on its own, maybe a spell or two to clear any enemy cards blocking attacks (MST's a standard example, but whatever you think). Or, if Fables do work so much from discarding, Foolish Burial???

I guess side deck cards would be full of situational asspull cards if you put them in story context, ha. 8P

The general idea of Fabled decks is that they can discard or be discarded from the hand to activate their own effects, so it leaves you with a near-empty hand almost all the time while you flood the field.

They work from discarding from the hand, not the deck, so Foolish Burial wouldn't work. Some support spells might do the deck some good, though, other than Fabled Topi and Unicore and Raigeki Break, I don't really have any means to defend against Spells and Traps ;-;. BUT WHAT DO I GET RID OF FOR THOSE, UUH.

Well, in that case, Hand Destruction? xD Discard a couple from your hand AND draw a couple cards? With more control than Card Destruction?

As to cut... You could drop one Honest and solve the Semi-/Limited question?? And Sunny Pixie since you're unsure already. And maybe a Fable that doesn't serve a lot for the whole deck with its effect? (I won't suggest which, you probably know better than me. x3)
