The states has all private airlines and the companies there periodicly extort the government as well. The bad news seems to be that the business of airlines is: Manage yourself wastefully, then threaten to shut down unless the government bails you out (no interest forgivable loans, cheep bonds, flat out buyouts etc) otherwise the public will loose essential services. Government caves. Rinse wash repeat.
