It's sorta weird, to have a "favorite" in the way I love Razor and how he's just the "it!" to me. I can feel bad about it, but mostly it's just what it is

I always seem to have favorites, unapologetically, but it's a funny thing, because the love is no less for any, and the hurt is all the same in the end, but some just hit you in a way. And I have that one and think that's it, I could never love a dog like that again and then I do and swear it's even more. Love it's awesome the way it can grow and expand and surprise you.
Right? Of course, I've not had the level of attachment and love for my dogs like you have had. I had a pair of "pet" dogs before Ruben. And Ruben - and my relationship w/ him - was complicated. Razor was my first BAM! "I dreamed you and you came!" Dog. Not sure I could ever duplicate that just because of it being the first real time.
But Rumble is special. And in a way I sure didn't expect. Of course, when he's gobbling discarded chicken chow he finds in the field and NOT even noticing when I'm yelling at him to STOP! some of that "special" takes on a whole new color. ;)
