What is the situation on the new job. I knew that you had one, but not what it was. Dish.
Buzz has found himself in the same sort of friend situation. Half of his core group is gone/going and it seems like he is either alone or hanging with Brian. Which, let's face it, is a sort of depressing situation to be in. I told him to reconnect with some of his Japan friends.
It just takes time. A winsome, awesome guy like yourself will have more friends than you know what to do with before too long.

Plus, really, it's only gonna hinder me from building real new friendships here (of course, not at the expense of the old ones, but just additional ones) if I spend all my time wishing the old ones would come here for my convenience. It's the easy answer (for me), but not the realistic one.
That said - anyone I know is always welcome to use my apartment is a doorway to getting to Portland while searching for an apartment/job.
