I did something scary today.

I printed and filled out the admission application to OU's High School Diploma Program. All I have to do now is figure out what exactly to put in the section for prior schooling (do I just leave that blank or write in home schooled for each grade level?), fill out the section for the credit card info for the $40 ( Read more... )

This is where I give rather blunt advice of just telling her if she's not going to be supportive, she needs to shut the hell up. :)

And there's no reason you can't send the kid to school, and help him out with some homeschooling resources as well, right?

Right you are. That's what I plan on doing. I believe parents should take an active role in their childrens schooling at home and not just leave it up to the teachers at thier school. This way you can make doubly sure they are learnign what they need to learn for the future and teachers aren't just passing them for no good reason.

...hrm...
At this point I'm almost wishing we had fucked off when I was tutoring you because then I at least would've seen your boobs more often. :P

Darling, that is awesome. And I'm here to back you up 100%. Another thing is there shouldn't be a damn thing wrong with you going to that study group AND going to those courses. Hell, take Robbie with you and I'll watch him while we study if you need me to. (Of course, give me a week recovery time and I'm on it!)

But you, in the end, know what is best for you and I think that you came to a pretty darn good conclusion.
:) Congrats!

So far, I think the best plan is to go to the study groups and work on my own to get my math skills up to par, while going ahead and getting the other courses that I know will be easier out of the way, like English, the electives, and so forth. That way when I am taking the math course, it won't be beyond my skill level and I won't have to drop out within 30 days to get my money back if I can't do it, which is what I feel would happen if I tried to take the math course now. And I'd like to avoid dropping classes as best I can, lol.
