(no subject)
Big Love: Seasons 1 and 2---and yes I'm very late to the game. But I didn't even have a TV when the series began, much less HBO.
Thoughts:
Ok, so the first season made sense. Bill seems like a decent guy, and is trying to get out from underneath the stranglehold of that mad dog Roman Grant. I hated, hated, hated Nikki at first---which is of course the purpose of the character----but later on, I guess I sort of gained this respect for her. I mean, she's definitely annoying, but I have to respect how protective and devoted she is to her family. I also hated Bill's mother at first, but I now find her pleasingly bat-shit crazy and hilarious. Hate Wanda and Joey. Hate Rhonda.
But then, Season 2 comes along (which I haven't finished yet), and then Bill, who spent all of season 1 getting away from Roman is now stirring the turd by trying to buy the video poker machine deal from right under Roman's feet. WTF? Why would he go poking a stick in Roman's eye like that when he has so much to risk?
Season 2 is starting to feel like a run-away train. Is there any hope for redemption in the series? (no pun intended)
