Hotaru had been wandering through town somewhere between one and five hours. He couldn’t be sure exactly, because he’d found a shady spot and taken a very refreshing nap. The buildings here -though they were strange looking- were comfortable. The insides all seemed to be furnished and full of useful things. He wondered if the boy he met had realized this, or if he was still running around frantically looking for his lord. The kid told him to stay in the area, and though he‘d intended to wander to the other side of town just to spite him, the idea of a nap was irresistible. Hotaru wasn’t good at doing what people told him to do. He didn‘t take orders, and definitely not from kids. He attempted to figure out how long it had been by looking up at the sun, which kind of hurt, so he assumed it must be around noon ( ... )

Josak sensed someone coming and turned around. Ara? Another person! Lucky! Because he didn't know where he was and well, it worked everywhere else, he put on his cheery face and waved at the other. Of course he'd be on his guard.

"Hi~ya~~! Hello~~!"

Hotaru stopped in his tracks, a little off-put by the intense friendliness of this perfect stranger. It reminded him of someone, though he couldn’t quite remember who. There was no use trying to remember, really. He wasn’t in that part of Japan anymore, and he was beginning to wonder if this was even Japan at all. What a story that would be, waking up in another country~

“Hello,” he replied after a few moments of entertaining his own thoughts.

This person didn't seem very entusiastic. Either he was also lost or hated living in such an empty place - or was just unpleasant. Regardless, he kept up his act and played nice.

"Say, I'm not from around here. Where is everyone? They all skip town from something?"
