What's a "Valentine's Day"? Is it just another curse or what? And what does candy have to do with it?

A holiday about people you l...love? I didn't know they had days like that.

So we're supposed to give candy and gifts to people we really like?

What if you don't have anything to give away?

Oh, okay. I was worried it was a curse or something weird like that.

And people get lotsa candy for it?

...Sometimes. If you're popular with girls.

Nah, I don't really know any girls. Guess I won't be getting anything.

But wait, you only get stuff from girls on this holiday?

It's a day when chocolates are given to people one likes. Ah, if they have courage.

What's the difference between "like" and "love"? Everyone keeps using both. It's kinda confusing.

Ah, erm... How do you explain that kind of thing?

It's that... well, if a girl gives you chocolate on Valentine's day, it means she likes you, but love is for when she likes you and only you? (M-Maybe gives you chocolate on other days too?)

Ah, okay! So it means she likes you more than everyone else. Wow, that would be pretty important... Is it normal to know people like that?

Tch. It's just some commercial holiday where girls give the boys a bunch of chocolates, and then on White Day in March.

...though in Italy, they do it a lot like America and there's only Valentine's Day, where both guys and girls exchange things. It's some lame romance day.

TCH!

Why am I even talking to you?!

Italy? Never heard of it. And there's another day like this? Geez.

Uh... I dunno. I appreciate your answer, though. I think I get it now.

Kid, are you crazy? Italy's in Europe. Yanno, the 'City of Love' and all that shit.

Yeah? Well. I guess if you got any other questions, it's better to ask me than some of the other idiots runnin' around.

I don't think that exists in my world.

Okay, thanks! Er... what's your name, by the way?

It's a day when guys make fools of themselves trying to impress pretty girls. ...Or so I'm told.

I thought they just gave girls candy. Candy's not really that impressive, if you ask me. But okay, whatever you say. Doesn't sound like a big deal, either way.

You gotta get creative. Think outside the box! Candy, flowers, public declarations of everlasting love in poetic form...the bigger the better.

Why? I don't get what the big deal is. People that I like already know I'm their friend.
