(Locked to Dr. Kokoris)

Meredith finished closing on the patient, gave the aftercare instructions, and walked out of the OR. She was exhausted and had absolutely no idea how much time had passed. But at the same time, it had been exhillarating. She'd have to tell Sophie about it, later. Much later. But first, she needed to scrub out, talk to Dr. Kokoris, and get a cup of ( Read more... )

Nic glanced up from the chart he was making notations on at the sound of Meridith's voice, then glanced at his watch to check the time before smiling at her as he stood.

"I would, how'd it go?" He extended a hand to take the folder from her. "There's coffee if you'd like, help yourself then have a seat." He motioned first to the pot and then to the free chair on the other side of the desk from where he'd been sitting.

Meredith hands him the file, then looks at her coffee cup a little guiltily, before sitting down.

Thanks. I stopped in the ER for coffee. Albright usually makes the coffee up here, and I've learned to avoid it at any cost.

I think it went well. Not quite what I was expecting to do today, but... The patient seems to be recovering well, though I'll keep my eye on him overnight, of course.

"That's fine, I picked up a pot for in here since I like mine on the Turkish coffee side and most people can't handle it that strong." He retook his seat and grew quiet for a few minutes as he read through the resident's notes on what she'd done after he had excused himself to allow her to close on her own.

"So, tell me how you think things went for you, anything you felt was more then you were ready for or that you feel you need more experience with?" He allowed his eyes to settle firmly on her as he questioned her.

I don't think that I've ever had Turkish coffee before.

She watched him as he read over the chart, sipping on her coffee and letting the caffine do it's magic.

Well, I obviously wasn't expecting to be doing such a major surgery today. I think I felt confident with most of it, but I don't have much cardiovascular experience. That and neuro are my weaknesses. In Seattle, everyone expected me to excel in both of those fields, so I tended to shy away. So I felt a little reticent earlier...
