Once everything like clubs and classes were over, Cal went back to his room, pulling out the chair at his desk in front of his Underwood and threading in a nice, clean sheet of paper. After work, Claire wandered from town back to the dorms, bag o takeout Chinese food in hand. Strangely enough (or perhaps not all that strangely) she went past her own floor and on up to four, then past Cal's door.

And then she was just going to stand in the doorframe for a second, watching him typing away. It was sexy.

"Hey," she said, when he seemed to be at a stopping point. "Did you have dinner?"

"Hm?" Cal's head turned before his eyes follow, the latter still scanning over the nearly full page of rambled sentences before acquiescing their attention toward something else. When he saw that the something else was Claire and he could smell Chinese food, he couldn't help grinning a bit.

"No," he said. "Did you bring dinner?"

Claire looked at the bag, feigning surprise it was in her hand.

"Huh. I guess I did," she said, stepping through the door and plopping down on Cal's bed. "It's just ... you know, kind of random Chinese stuff. Work made me hungry."

"Same here," Cal said, with a shy sort of glance toward the pile of papers stacked beside his typewriter. "You won't hear me complaining. Here."

He got up, pushing his chair back in with his foot before moving to his bed, snatching off two pillows and tossing them to the center of the floor. "There. Who needs tables?"
