What's that smell?

There's a weird smell in my house and I can't figure out what it is or where it's coming from. It smells bad, but not bad enough to run away screaming. It's like... a nagging stink.

I have narrowed down that it's not:

Have you emptied the trash lately?

Checked your tubers to make sure they haven't turned to mash?

Tried air freshener?

Heh. Sorry. Hazard of being from out of town. Potatoes and such tend to get rather ripe when they get old enough.

Hmmm. Any pets?

My first instinct was to check the dairy and the meat, but that was ok. Maybe I should just clean out the whole thing.

Or vacuum the coils? Sometimes fridges make noise because there is a lot of dust on the coils.

Did you get a dog?

Are there dead mice living in your walls? That happened to us once. It was during the winter though. It was gross.

What? Why would I get a dog?

I don't think something dead can live anywhere but still, that's pretty disgusting. How do you even check for that?
