048 - depths of winter

Jul 27, 2008 22:35

Jeeze, I grew up in Wisconsin and we don't exactly have mild winters there, but this is something else. I don't recommend anybody go out of doors today for any reason, because I don't know how many police members we can get out who can handle the cold in case something happens. No matter how tempting it might be, children should not be outside ( Read more... )

not working!, think of the children, winter in july, break out the woollens and fleece, affected, scary movies, enforced vacation?, curse

I had, in the past, looked at military jeeps. Can show you were the best lots are in the Underground.

I've dealt with some pretty nasty storms, but ...generally not midsummer.

You're holding up alright?

I had to go digging through my old closet to find all my winter clothing. It's a good thing Logan's like a radiator all on his own or I'd have been up all night shivering.

Yeah, we should be good if this doesn't last too long. Are you doing okay?

Ah. Fortunately it was winter at home when I got here last time, I just had to go find my old things. Although it's not quite this cold at home.

I'm fine, the apartment's plenty warm.

It was winter when I arrived, but I don't really use the bedroom I was in back then much any more.

Plenty of supplies?

If you hear of anyone that needs some help, I can get out and about pretty easily. Seems like you're taking more forced days off lately.

And they're going well. Spoiler really wants to work with the police and is willing to let me run things at least for a while.

It's still the weekend, so it's not such a big deal, but I like to have the option to go into work if I want to.

Sounds good, although we might want to keep them unofficial until you can get some training in and figure out what they're capable of.

I could send the car out for you if you really wanted to go.

I'll be sure to mention that to them. They'd definitely eager but it takes a lot of work to form an effective team.

Ah yes, the flying car. But there's nothing that needs my attention today, we haven't got anything new on the headless corpses since last week.

They might have powers, but they're still minors and that doesn't necessarily mean they have the responsibility and skills that would keep them from being a liability in a combat situation.

Worst case scenario, we can go looking. They won't be too hard to find.

I got some firewood with your name on it.
