Hearing screams and explosions, Estelle ran across the long hallway of the first floor of the castle. She was about to reach the door to go out and see what was happening in the city when her old nanny stopped her.
"Lady Estellise! You must not go outside! Pirates have invaded the city! Please go hide in your room! Your father called for the Imperial Guards to protect you!"
The young Princess gasped at the news and she simply nodded before kicking off her high heels shoes. Running faster on her bare feet, she gathered her numerous layers of skirts around her and ran up the grand master staircase to the second floor where her room was located. Once in the hallway, she quickly unhook her diamond earrings and necklace, shoving them in the small cleavage her corset had created, in hope to hide them. As she passed her father’s study, she grabbed one of his swords. It wouldn’t do much damage in her hands, but it might discourage any ruffians from touching her.
Once in her room, she locked her door and pushed one of her clothes chest against the door. She turned around and walked to her balcony to close and lock its door but she stopped dead in her track: she could see the silhouette of a man leaning against the window frame, the veil of the curtains barely hiding him.
"Going somewhere Princess?"
Estelle raised the sword towards the man but it slipped from her hand and dropped to the floor as soon as the man walked out of the shadows. The pink haired woman gasped in surprise: it wasn’t any pirate in her room, but the infamous captain of the Black Maiden, the ever elusive raider of the Red Seas, Edward Cullen. Estelle had recognized him from the wanted poster placated in the Capital and her heartbeat raised considerably: he was younger than depicted and the sighing and swooning maidens he always left in his trail hadn’t been able to describe how handsome he truly was.
In a few strides, Edward had walked up to her and the princess backed away from him until she felt herself trapped between her huge bedpost and the pirate. In attempt to throw him off, Estelle raise her chin defiantly and the brown haired young man only smirked lightly at the gesture. Bringing his hand up, he pushed a stray strand of her pink hair behind her ear, letting his fingertips trail on her earlobe, sliding down her neck oh-so slowly to rest on her collarbone. The princess stayed still, her ears ringing from the blood that rushed to her cheeks, her chest feeling constricted by her corset as her breathing quickened.
“No jewelry? I’m hurt...” he said in a teasing voice, but as he looked down her cleavage, seeing the clasps of her necklace, he raised an eyebrow:
“Oh...what do we have here?”
His smirk grew wider as he was about to reach for the diamonds, but he was thankfully stopped by a loud bang on the door of the princess’ room.
“Lady Estellise! Are you all right?”
The young woman opened her mouth to scream but before a sound could leave her throat, Edward had covered her lips with his. Instantly, Estelle raised her hands to hit the man, but the captain easily caught her wrists, chuckling in the back of his throat. Despite the warmth that had flood to her cheeks, Estelle felt a shiver run through her spine and her body seemed to melt down, betraying her by molding itself perfectly against Edward’s.
The young man broke the kiss as the sound of wood crashing and the princess turned to her door to see the knights trying to break it down. The pirate frowned for a second before smiling at the Princess.
“I guess this means I have no more time for looting...But it doesn’t really matter. I’ve found the perfect price to bring back my ship” he grinned before sipping an arm behind Estelle’s knees, lifting her up in his arms as he walked to the balcony, gracefully letting himself fall down......
