I had me some chips and sat back in the huge couch, puttin my boots on the coffee table. I knew damn well that Andrew was givin‘ me those looks that he always gives me when I do that. Hey, a girl‘s gotta get ‘er kicks somehow. Especially since I’d been cooped up in this god damned estate for a long time. I was startin’ to like the company of ( Read more... )

I didn't miss Rome. The old style and the ruins and the colosseum...they got tiring. I was, after all, a new age kind of guy. I did miss the leggy brunettes everywhere, but I had my fill of rambunctious women that actually served under me and some of them were really...really kinda hot. Okay, some weren't either, but that was out of the question. I was a watcher. I was one of only four, and after Giles, there was no doubt that I was the best. Xander knew about the past seven years, but his extent on reading books was generally limited to comics and as they say in Meh-he-koe, that won't cut in wehn researching demons.

Lucy was good, and her father was a watcher, but come on, women were the slayers and a true watcher, was a gentleman. A gentleman like me. A gentleman like me who had been confided in by Giles about what the hoo-rah in LA was, and now, it was eating away at me, like a leech on an Ethiopan swimmer.

“So, what is it that’s so important you’re not tellin’ me? Angel in some sort of trouble? I have a feelin’ your orders come ( ... )

Ok, now this was gettin’ good. For this instance, I had to set my bag of chips down, and wipe my hands on the side of the couch. My feet landed on the floor, and I rested my elbows on the tops of my knees.

"I had to tell you, Faith. Buffy's going to Los Angeles to try to get the foreheaded vampire and dear old Spike back on track..but she doesn't know everything."The first thing that caught my ears, and made me take aback was the fact that B was goin’ to LA. To get em’ back on track. Now, I knew the girl had some problems, an’ I knew that she was keepin’ them on a string, but damn, girl, didn’ know it was so tight ( ... )

“So B’s finally gettin’ in the fray. Didn’ know it’d take so damn long. An‘ here I thought it was just gonna be a phone call. Didn‘ know she‘d be takin‘ the ol‘ plane ride.”I felt all queasy inside, thinking about Buffy all going over there like Wonder Woman, remembering how it had been the last time that I was there. We found out about Dana, twelve of the girls went over and we played the bait and switch with the legendary undead and it all worked out. Dana was still a work in progress and a gallon vile of pheno-barbitol away from normal..but who of us were really normal ( ... )

I kept takin’ drags off of the cigarette as Andrew battled with his inner conscious. Whether he wanted to tell me or now (which I knew he did) He was gonna get it out, cause’ I wasn’ leavin’ till he did. Especially since it was important and involved B, 2 vamps with souls, and an ol‘ watcher of mine.

"Okay, but you didn't hear this from me when Giles gets all M with you about going off on this secret mission. Just....I don't know, just tell him that you heard about Buffy going and are going to back her up…”

I nodded, and took a big drag, then blew it all in his face. The kid had to loosen up. He was actin‘ like I was gonna break his neck or somethin‘. Not that I was complainin.’ I still loved that hold I had on people, even if I wasn’t the killin’ type anymore. It usually meant that I got what I wanted. Besides, I was still considered the rogue. Gotta keep that name goin’. I kinda liked it.

"You know..Giles doesn't like smoking in the estate..." I paid no attention to his complaints. Just gave him that look that told him to ( ... )
