The Preserve, Wednesday afternoon

Running through the preserve to keep in shape, there were a few things Temari never expected to notice.

Like the oddly colored deer. But she'd gotten used to those.

This time, however it was a someone and not a something that got her to pause.

"Oi, crybaby."

Shikamaru had headed here straight from class. The woods were nice and quiet after all. No one would bother him. When he'd heard someone moving around he'd just closed his eyes where he lay on the ground and prepared to ignore them.

Maybe that would make them go away.

Unfortunately, it didn't. Even more unfortunately, she knew him.

He cracked an eyelid and looked over before flopping back with a dramatic sigh.

"What are you doing here, troublesome woman?"

"I've been here all summer, brat," Temari said, hands on her hips and bending over him to make sure he saw her.

Oh, he saw her. She was blocking his view of the clouds after all.

Probably on purpose...

Shikamaru sighed. "Great."

There... they'd talked. Maybe she'd go away now.

He wasn't actually sure if that was what he wanted.

Thumping him on the head with the side of her foot, Temari stood up. "Why are you here?"
