Love Tomatoes, but gave up trying to grow my own years ago. I was with Mom yesterday, she showed me the mere handful of pathetically puny tomatoes she'd harvested earlier in the week. Somewhat conditional good news: Lynn might be transferring back to Mendota within the next month. Conditional, because the care facilities in question keep misplacing the paper work.... And Mom still can't get a consistent straight answer from the Illinois Dept of Aging OR Medicaid about the additional insurance plan they apparently want Lynn to have?

Well, I guess that's something... be easier to visit Lynn, at least?
I think the harder you try to grow tomatoes, the fewer you get. All I do is plant and water them, and I get ... well, a few years ago 8 plants produced about 200 pounds! And I had feral tomatoes everywhere. Tho my garden is an old corral, hence rich soil, and... the secret ingredient is peat moss. Makes 'em go nuts.
