Third Strike - [Action | Accidental Video]

Jan 19, 2010 13:20

[Early morning has Presea busy. After locating her clothes and axe from the shopping district, she's on her way through town to do what she does best, chop some wood. People may or may not see her at the edge of the forest, dragging her massive axe behind her without batting an eye. Her face is stoic and emotionless as usual, and she trudges onward ( Read more... )

[cutting down the trees? Oh, you don't know what you're in for, little human. Even if Moro did say to give the young a chance, this has all the makings of a deliberate attack. And so San will deliberately attack right back, coming at Presea from behind, masked and knife drawn]

[It's a real shame cutting wood is basically all this empty little girl knows how to do. It was what she did back home before her emotions were sealed away by her Cruxis Crystal, so it was her routine as well as her occupation. Still, this does not say Presea is not a skilled fighter as well. She was naturally distrustful and guarded, and had attuned senses when out working. She's faced bigger things than you, San.

She turns and quickly holds up her axe, a resounding clang! echos through the forest as San's knife meets the flat side of Presea's axe - the child had used the thick blade as a sort of shield.]

...

[Had she the ability to, she'd be glaring, but Presea's eyes and face are livid as she gazes back into the mask staring her down. If it's a fight you want, so be it, though she would have easily left if you had asked. Silly girl.]

[this tiny human girl lifting the huge axe is weird anyway. San doesn't think to ask first. You cut down a tree. She'll try to attack again, hoping to use her speed to her advantage against the slower axe]

[You think she's weird, you gotta see some of the other kids around this place, seriously. Good tactic, Presea is definitely not a speedy fighter, but she is strong and smart. She's taken in her weaknesses and knows to work around them. The knife grazes and cuts through her dress, and a bit of her skin ow, as she thrusts herself up into a jump, holding the axe high above her head, calling out her arte name.]

Devastation!

[And she swings the axe down, hoping to strike a good blow.]

[Early morning happens to be Yuan's favorite time to take a walk. It's nice and quiet then. Rather, it would be. The sound of a tree falling to the ground is a bit hard to miss. Neither are the chops that follow when Presea tries to hack away at the branches. Deciding to investigate the matter, Yuan soon finds the source of all that noise. After Colette's recent entry, he knows only too well that girl's having problems with her Exsphere. He'll just stand and watch for now.]

[Presea can hear him, what with her Cruxis Crystal advancing her senses, but does not attack yet. She's naturally distrustful, and is always on guard while working in the forest, but this newcomer doesn't seem hostile.

For now, she'll continue working, cutting off the branches of the tree and burying some of the young shoots into the ground. Hopefully they'd grow into new trees one day - she doesn't want to waste anything. When she's done that, Presea finally turns and stares at Yuan.

You need something, man? :|]

[... Oh. She's staring at him. Those blank eyes are a sharp reminder of the lifeless beings that dwelled Welgaia's streets. Not exactly happy memories for Yuan, so he can't meet her gaze for too long without reflexively looking away.

Technically, he doesn't need anything, but he is curious about the Exsphere's development. In order to properly investigate it, he'll have to try and get closer. The most important thing to remember about lifeless beings is that you shouldn't make them feel threatened.]

... Do you need a hand with that?

[Especially when they're carrying a really large, heavy axe. Presea isn't sure about this man, but she felt no form of hostility. Even so, his offer to assist does not go unheard, and Presea answers easily enough, shifting her axe onto her shoulder.]

No. Thank you.

[It was an honest reply. Presea had been working as a woodcutter for ten years, and she didn't really need help. Perhaps he could help her carry some pieces, but she hadn't gotten to that just yet. She would let him watch, though, if he wanted. Just so long as that was all he did. She'll be moving back to her work now, swinging the axe onto the trunk and slicing it into pieces she could carry home.]

Presea? ...A-Are you sure this is very safe?

[Give her a second, she's busy slicing the branches off the tree she just cut down. The sounds of a heavy object meeting another heavy object can be heard for a few minutes before Presea finally responds. No, it;s not safe at all, seeing as how she was just attacked for cutting down said tree and is still bleeding from the shallow cut at her side, but her voice shows no sign of fatigue or pain.]

I will take care...

I-I know you're a wonderful lumberjack, Presea! But still, please be careful... a-and try not to hurt any of the animals by accident!

[Why is this weird girl worrying so much over her. Presea does glance idly at her wound and then back at her journal. Nodding, she goes back to her work, the resounding thuds and cracks of her axe ramming through the tree's trunk filling the empty forest.]

Understood. ...Will not harm the forest.

[He heard the chopping, and so, Kratos decided to go outside to see if she needed any help. It's a bit of a stupid notion since Presea has worked by herself for years, but still. It might be a relief for her.

After some walking, he finds her. So he stands not too far away with his arms crossed, just watching her do her work.]

[Oh, hey, roomy. Presea heard him advance, but she didn't look up. Just a light glance before she was back to work again. She doesn't do too much more, thinking he needed something to be done at the house. So, Presea puts her axe away and looks at him. If he looks closely - and he most likely with with his advanced sight - he can see she's slightly injured. Just a shallow cut at her side, but it was still bleeding a little.

Good thing Presea can't feel pain.]

...Did you need something?

[Oh yes, Kratos notices that cut on her side. Even if she can't feel it, it must be inconvenient, and it could get infected. So, he holds out his hand.]

First Aid.

[Which causes the cut on her side to heal - probably not completely, but enough for it not to be potentially dangerous. Then, he crosses his arms again and shakes his head.]

No. If you wish to carry on, do so.

[Presea allows that and glances down at the wound he just helped close, then back up to him. She hadn't met anyone skilled with magic, especially not healing artes.]

...Thank you.

[And after looking back at him for just a moment longer, she hefts one of the big logs up onto her shoulder, and does the same for the other. Her axe she had fastened to her back beforehand to free her arms. She makes a careful turn, and then walks quietly over to her housemate.]

Will finish another day. ...Dinnertime.
