D knew who it was long before the tale-tell knock on the door. He could catch the blond's scent from a mile away. Perhaps more than that. So at first, as Takuma waited at the door, D didn't move from his spot.
However, the dhampir finally released a sigh, standing from the couch where Cooro was sleeping, passed out from dinner. D shuffled over in his pajamas of just a form-fitting maroon t-shirt with a large gold 2 on it and some dark grey, draw-string sleep pants.
Cooro had been keeping the house lively, what with Harry in and out, and D doing his own bit of dragging himself around. His body chemistry had been out of sorts. But now, feeling, smelling, and sensing the blond just outside the door...
D rested his fingertips against the wooden door. His blood lust took a sharp spike upwards, then bomb-dived until it burned into nothingness, and his aura was gone.
He opened the door. His lavender eyes stared at Takuma, dark hair fluttering a bit.
Takuma felt the sporadic shift of D's presence. He shivered when the blood lust spiked then felt his heart sink when there was just nothing. It was eerie.
He looked up at the dhampir, his green eyes meeting with his lavender ones and he held his gaze for a moment. He could feel his heart beat faster just from seeing him again. All of that longing he had been feeling, all of the thoughts that were swirling around in his mind, everything. It all seemed to just disappear as he lost himself in those sparkling eyes.
What should he say? How to start this?
"H-happy belated birthday, D....", he said holding up the gifts like a sacrificial lamb, smiling calmly (as calmly as he could) at him. "May I come in?"
"You're welcome", he said, smiling with a bit less tension. He stepped into the cottage that he hadn't been to in what seemed like forever and looked over at the sleeping Cooro. His face softened at the sleeping figure.
He didn't want to disturb the little crow from his slumber, so he looked towards D's bedroom and started heading towards it so he could watch the other open his presents.
He hoped D liked them, he was very hard to buy for.

...Talk, D.
"..."
Come on!
"...Takuma," He finally spoke slowly.
