I don't know about it being a remedy, but when I get to the stage of sickness where you just need to be asleep so you're not awake anymore I put on Atreyu's greatest hits and play it all the way through.
By about the third song I'm unconscious and then I wake up around Ex's and Oh's all refreshed.
