In the fortress, Aile found herself greeted not by Prairie, but Guardian soldiers - and not the familiar ones that Aile might remember from her mission. Apparently, Aile had triggered some kind of alarm in using the Trans-Server.

"Miss Aile, you are not authorized for entry into this location," one of them stated, plainly.

"--WHAT?" Who were these people to tell her that, anyway? Not 'authorized?' What kind of authorization did she need to see her own guardian?

And who were they? Guardian uniforms, fine, but without the friendly faces she'd come to expect. "Why not!"

"This base is now under new supervision, and we have revised security and personel protocols," the leader says, putting a hand on his armament. "State your purpose here today."

She frowns. "Aile, in the government's eyes, I'm just like Serpent. I have too many secrets, and too much insight into the past... and now, they're afraid of the past, Aile. They think if I have your loyalty and the Guardians'..."

"Right. We're family now. So... I guess I should go pack." She didn't feel the need to correct Prairie yet, especially being so unsure of her feelings herself, so she just snuggled up a little, making no effort to leave but no longer overly distressed.

Prairie held her tighter, stroking her hair again. "If you like, I can... I can help you," she replied.
