Steerpike can be assumed to be doing three things:
- snogging Morgana blissfully, repeatedly, and enthusiastically;
- having tea and gossip with Alice M. on a regular basis;
- practicing his warlocking with Muraki.

One thing can also be noticed: he's getting increasingly withdrawn. Something's wrong with him, but he won't say what.

In regards to one: Good, Morgana will continue to be blissfully happy until near the end of the month, when his being withdrawn starts to bring about doubts...

The withdrawn-ness will twig Muraki: he'll be puzzled by it, but won't pry. Or pretend he's not twigged by it. The prying that isn't prying, or something??
