[The best way to find out about new places is to go and have a little look yourself, and after seeing someone - or several someones - post about being in Chicago of all places, that's what Lyle decided to do. Well hey, he couldn't help being more than slightly curious ( Read more... )

Well...you might just might know one of the members of a mob... Accidentally of course.

Just like I seem to know that guy "accidentally"...

[And maybe he starts to get another sense of what that might mean when he gets a good look at "the Doc's" clothes.] ... Hang on a second. You're not saying what I think you're saying, right?

Ohhhh, I'm afraid I am. Apparently...I'm "The Doc" here.

How did that happen?

You too, Lyle? I'm starting to feel like this whole thing was set up just to confuse us!

And the mob really is everywhere, isn't it? I always thought that was just a stereotype.

Not only are they everywhere, but they're everywhere and half of us seem to be members, apparently.

I saw the Doctor... That doesn't even make any sense!

I'm standing in 20th century Chicago in the middle of a spaceship. Something tells me that whatever sense there ever was is long gone.

[Wherever he is, he's reading a newspaper, and doesn't look up from it when he talks to the sphere - there's people around, after all.]

The mob. Now that's something to worry about.

I've only ever seen them in old films. [REALLY old films...] Is it as bad as they make it look?

That depends on how accurate this all is... and whether you're on their bad side or not, I suppose.

Okay, so let's say that this is about 50-70% accurate. How bad is it then?

They're not the only ones who turned into mobsters. I've got an entire family going! But, I've managed to reel them under control. Mostly. I still have to return a girl, and stop another from drowning. But that won't be a problem!

Anyways, I'm Kurosaki Isshin! Since I have a mob, I might as well use it. If you need protection, if you need a car, hell if you need bus route I'll have one of my men run and hand it to you!

[laughs slightly - although there might have been a slight blink at "That won't be a problem!"] So I really am "getting involved with the mob" now, huh?

Lyle Dylandy. Thanks for the offer.

[Over the spheres from his hospital bed]

Is everyone in this place in the mob or something?

Hey, he never said I was in the mob, just that I was getting involved with some of them.

Yeah, but a lot of people seem to be involved with them somehow.

We went from a sentai film to a cheap 1920s remake. Lovely.
