[For Lee]

Prior to the island, Martha had never had much of a problem with drinking. With her erratic schedule since entering university, she hadn't been inclined to drink much more than a pint at a time, and being drunk had never held much appeal for her once she was out of her teens. Part of being busier in general meant that Lee found himself in the compound less often. Three days a week, after patrolling and working with the ITF, the last thing Lee wanted to do was make the trek up to the compound. But he did have to eat, so it was inevitable that he'd find himself there.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Lee said, curiously, wondering just what it was that Martha wanted to talk to him about. Sure, he and Sarah Jane had been drunk off their asses and maybe a little obnoxious, but Lee had seen enough obnoxious and boisterous drunks that it wasn't really a big deal.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing, really," Martha insisted as she stepped aside and gently tugged Lee with her. "I wanted to apologise. For the other day. I know it might be difficult for you to believe, but I don't usually drink. I end up saying idiotic things. Obviously." After a deep breath, she peered uncertainly up at him. "I hope I didn't offend you or make any of this more difficult than it has to be. I was just- Well. You'd have to understand my situation to understand, but suffice it to say it's a wonder I'm not drinking more than I am." The corner of her mouth hitched up in a contrite smile, and she chuckled, self-conscious.
