Yes, there was a moment or two when she thought maybe she should text Shawn -- let him know, just in case. But she quickly squashed that idea. Tonight was about taking chances.
Stepping inside the restaurant, she was shown to Pierre's table right away. Seeing him, and the view outside, she smiled. Well done, Mr. Despereaux. Well done.

"My dear mademoiselle," he smiled at her, his pleasure at her company showing in the soft curve of his smile, "I am so glad that you could join me." He poured her a glass of wine without asking if she wanted it. "I trust that you like Italian food?"
