[IC Information]
Character Name: Teddy Altman (Hulkling)
Series: Young Avengers
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Sexuality: Gay
Species: Alien: Kree/Skrull Hybrid
Appearance: Variable. However, normally Teddy is the classic blue eyed blonde haired teenager. He has numerous piercing in his ears and shows no signs of his fan boy nature. His hair is short and a little messy, but in all honesty there is nothing outside of the piercing that would set him apart from a normal teen. Although, he could be called a fanboy or the like, he has kept himself in shape that befits a “super hero.” He is an alien by nature and has shape shifting abilities. His secondary form is that of a bulky green humanoid that resembles “The Hulk”. Although, as a late he has chosen to take a more reptilian skin pattern in that form.
Personality:
As stated before, Teddy is bit of a fan boy. He enjoys comics and looks up to most of the super heroes out there (especially The Avengers.) Teddy is extremely loyal to his friends and would easily fight along side of them until the end. Caring and polite, Teddy would be the type of guy you would want to take home to Mom. However, the best way to describe Teddy’s personality is that of a chameleon. He seems to be able to read people easily and adjust appropriately without losing who he is. He has such a gentle way about him that he can’t seem to make enemies. He knows how to act and react in each situation, no matter if he is himself or if he is “playing someone else” Even though he is a mixture of Skrull and Kree he is nothing like either race. He is not militaristic in any way, preferring peace over the use of war tactics to solve problems. In general he would rather avoid violence and offer himself to stop it. He is rather lucky that instead of having to result to violence he can use his shape shifting ability to intimidate a person and avoid the confrontation completely.
Abilities: Shape-shifting, accelerated healing and super strength. As for being limited I would have to say that his shape shifting would be limited to once or twice a day (not the rapid shifting he could do before). His healing factor would be close to non existent, that is to say he would be able to heal minor wounds, but nothing on the scale of what he could if he had all of his powers. As his super strength is limited, there would be no tossing cars with relative ease here.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History: As revealed Teddy is the son of a Kree and a Skrull. His Kree father Captain Mar-vell was kidnapped by the Super Skrull. Captain Mar-vell was then presented to the Skrull emperor, but would later escape. Some time between the capture and the escape Captain Mar-vell met the Emperor’s daughter Anelle. In short some birds and some bees and thus Teddy was conceived. At the time of his birth he was immediately exiled to Earth where he grew up as Teddy Altman.
In the beginning he kept his shape shifting abilities and super strength a secret believing that he was a mutant. However, he used his abilities to fit in better at school and to befriend the class president Greg Norris. Greg was the first person he revealed his powers to. Contrary to what Teddy believed, Greg saw his powers as an opportunity and not a curse, using Teddy’s abilities to play many a joke and con. One such incident involved breaking into the Avenger’s mansion. Teddy being the class fan boy was amazed by just being in there; however Greg only wanted to loot the place. Teddy took exception to that and threatened to call the police. Greg knew the police would never believe Teddy, but was soon intimidated by the alien hybrid and forced to leave the mansion. It was soon after that Iron Lad approached him to become part of the New Avengers. Of course, he accepted with little thought on the matter, taking up the mantle of Hulkling. After some time, Teddy was kidnapped by his Skrull brethren. They claimed that Teddy was a Skrull and he was required to return with them. After the Young Avengers battled the Skrull they escaped to Billy’s (Wiccan) house. It was there that they found Teddy’s mother waiting for them. The Super Skrull showed up soon after with Eli (Patriot) held hostage. Teddy’s mother (who incidentally turned out to be a Skrull woman who was ordered by the Empress to protect her son (Teddy) tried to stop the Super Skrull but was subsequently set aflame.
The Super Skrull then succeeded in kidnapping Teddy, revealing to the young man that he was actually Dorek VIII, son of the Empress Anelle and the one true heir of the Skrull Empire. The Emperor however ordered Teddy’s death leading to his arrival on Earth. Before the Super Skrull could tell Teddy who is father really was the Young Avengers and the Kree appeared. The Kree army insisted that Teddy was the son of Captain Mar-vell and demanded that the teen came back with them. The young super team found themselves in the middle of a battle. Both the Kree and the Skrull wanted Teddy for their own. Luckily, the New Avengers arrived and together with the Super Skrull managed to push back the two alien races. Making a deal, the Super Skrull took Teddy’s place and went back with the Kree and Skrull to spend six months with each race. Currently Teddy is fighting with the underground against the Super Hero Registration Act. Oh, and the Skrulls attacked again.
First-person POV journal sample: This place is complete madness. People are afraid of some monster I haven’t even seen. Something Mama or another…who name’s a monster Mama anyway? It’s creepy though, this place… I mean it’s like an episode of X-Files or something… If X-File’s had giant man eating crab things chasing you down all the time…
Third-person POV rp sample: His body felt heavier than usual. The ease of traveling in his “Hulk” form was long gone. It wasn’t as if he couldn’t do it, it simply didn’t feel the same. His steps felt a bit heavier than usual and he couldn’t explain why. He knew though, that if he didn’t keep the form, the man eating lice things were going to; well do what man eating lice did. Ducking around the corner, the blonde hair boy, turned green hellion leaned back against the wall. This was all completely ridiculous.
Where the hell was he? More importantly, where the hell was Billy and his other friends, he was sure they were with him when he went through the portal. Was that it? Did Billy’s teleport spell go haywire? It was definitely a possibility, but it didn’t seem likely. Billy had never screwed up before, why would he start now?
One thing he knew for sure, he had to find a place to hide. Those crabs or lice or whatever the hell they were, they weren’t going to give up until they had a nice Hulkling Risotto to munch on. And personally, he really hated Risotto.
Turning to look around the corner, Teddy was tired of running. He knew he didn’t have all of his strength but he figured he could take that dumpster and play the Orkin man for just a bit. However, it wasn’t going to work that way today. His eyes widened as what should have been an easy lift turned into something more strained. Grunting, the hybrid launched the trash can with all his might towards one of the creatures that were following him. He realized (hopefully, not too late) that he needed to put on his sprinting shoes and get the hell out of Dodge. There was no way he was going to be able to keep all the weird lice like creatures from eating him, at least, not alone.
