Hello, this is Nic/Nicola/Nicsi/Spookie I have changed my name from _sleepflower to not_waving. I've only changed the name - not gotten a new journal, I don't want to purge my past, as much of it is still my present ( Read more... )

The Manics reference is from "Ready For Drowning". They change the line to "not waving but drowning" in the last chorus, really subtle :D

You're gonna have to take my word that I guessed it was from, I'm not waving, I'm drowning. I didn't know it was a poem though. And I also got the Manics reference. "Ready For Drowning".

There's a beautiful Tori song called Amber Waves (that she played at Hammersmith!) in which the line "If you're by and you have the time, tell the northern lights to keep shining; of late it seems like they're drowning" is repeated a number of times.
The song ends with "So I went by cuz I had the time, told the northern lights to keep shining... They told me to tell you they're waving"... ♥

that's one of my favourite Tori songs ♥
it slips in with Concertina, Me and a Gun Cornflake Girl and of course Happy Phantom.

heh, now I'm singing the chorus of HP over and over in my head <3
