Ok, ok. I must admit that the first book I ever read in English was 'Armand' by Anne Rice and omg I fucking loved it, although I didn't understand everything.
So, who of you also had this kind of youth where you were all emo and ADORED the Vampire-Chronicles?

Ha ha ha, Lestat? The biggest brat in the world. I started reading in the sixth grade and fell in love with his cockiness. And, uhh, love for all things wine and manly. :)

I always thought Lestat was annoying and uber!arrogant. I have an odd obssession with Armand O.o, althought I thought it was terrible that he looked SO OLD in the movie. He's only 17 omg.
But Louis/Lestat is nice, too. What a bummer that Anne Rice doesn't allow fanfiction *sigh*

I think that Lestat's arrogance is what drew me in to him, because he was the son of a Lord, yet an outcast of his family, and had the air of someone who would do whatever he damn well pleased, and I think that really just stuck with me. Very strong character, as were Louis and Armand. I have strange interest in Armand, such as I abssolutely love and adore him and his story, but would probably quake with fear and respect if I were to ever be in his presence. Louis is nice too, though with him you can't let the underlying sadness about him get to you or you'll never finish his story.

Loius and Lestat make an excellent pairing, especially since Lestat really brings the life out in Louis. I think that Anne's whole view on fanfiction is slightly ridiculous, since we even post loudly and repeatedly that we're not stealing or infringing in any way, shape or form. Silly author. I'd take it as a mark of respect and a high compliment if someone loved my vision enough to write about it.

Its strange because I adore Lestat, but I've only read like half the books because some of them bored me silly, espically Interview with a Vampire. Only saw the movie once and that was too many times. Tom Cruise was, in my mind, the worst bit of casting in that movie. The Lestat in my brain has more in common with Stuart Townsend, but Queen of the Damned made me cringe because they massacred the story.

Have you read Pandora? Excellent novel, short too. Perhaps my favorite of all the Vampire books she wrote.

Hee. *sheepish grin* I've read almost everything by her except the last 3-4 bookss, but I bought those. I don't know why. It's like I'm trying to cling to something that doesn't move me anymore.

She doesn't "allow" fanfiction? o_O Oh yeah, that'll stop the kids. heh.
And then there was that whole Amazon.com debacle about reviews of her most recent book. She's truly beginning to irritate me.

Always liked Louis and Armand the best. And Nicolas. Who could resist a mad violinist? Ahem.

I've read everything she's published. I sold 'Blood Canticle' sixteen hours after buying it, because it was so bad that it was tainting all the other books on my shelf.

Lestat totally peaked in 'The Vampire Lestat'--after that, he became a girly man-bitch, omg.
