What the---

...was that supposed to be some bedtime story you people on Reial speak about?

Ah, well... it was more a story to illustrate the shortcomings of the current reactions to the falling island problem...

...that was a pretty lame way to show it. Who were you telling it to anyway?

Well, I tried to explain it more directly at first, but that wasn't working.

Oh. It was for Elizabeth. I didn't realize it was recording, to be honest.

[Honest to freaking God moved to compassion] That's...that's so terrible! Forced away from their family's lands... wouldn't anyone help them? I mean, if they were working so hard for their country...

Unfortunately, this is often the case for the underprivileged amongst us. They are the hardest working and are appreciated the least. Without them, we could not thrive, and yet, in their time of need, we do nothing.

[sigh] I know, but... I mean, we're always gonna need leaders, so isn't it the leaders' responsibility to look after the lower ranks? I know that isn't how it always turns out, but it's not right the way some of the others just use the people without thinking about their needs...

It should be, yes. I fear we are somewhat lacking in those willing to step up to the task. Many of our leaders come from the highest of classes in Ivona. The plight of those beneath them often... escapes their notice. People need to be made more aware of the situation before changes will be made.

That... is a very interesting story.

I rather thought so. I didn't mean to share it with everyone, but perhaps it will do some good.

It is not the first fable of it's type, but your enthusiasm is refreshing.

I have a great love for my countrymen, and want the best for all of them, regardless of their station in life.

And why on Reial are you telling ridiculous stories to a duck?

O-oh that's s-so sad! [sniff] I'm so glad she has a happy ending. It wouldn't be right if she didn't. Ohhh... [LOUD SNIFF]

Indeed. But there are many who are not as fortunate as poor Isamu, which is why we must always keep their plight in mind.

Okay... I'll do my very best, so I can help them, by golly!
